Model overview
The Merak was built from 1972 during Maserati's Citroën ownership, sharing its 3.0-litre V6 (and much of its hydraulics) with the Citroën SM. Mid-engined and styled by Giugiaro, it was the more usable, 2+2 sister to the V8 Bora. The later Merak SS was the most powerful and best-developed version, and genuinely restored right-hand-drive examples are now rare and increasingly sought-after.
